by Kyran AdamsGolden, crisp outside and molten in the middle. Low and slow is the trick — it melts the cheese before the bread burns.
Ingredients
- 2 slices Bread
- ~½ cup Cheese, sliced or grated
- 1 tbsp Butter, softened
Steps
- Prep: Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Cook: Place one slice butter-side down in a cold pan, pile on the cheese, and top with the second slice butter-side up.
- Cook: Cook over medium-low heat until the underside is deep golden, about 3 minutes.
- Cook: Flip and cook the other side until golden and the cheese is fully melted.
- Finish: Rest for a minute so the cheese sets slightly, then cut in half and serve.
